Podway hosts self-hosted apps in the cloud with an AI admin to manage them.
Podway at a glance
Podway hosts open-source apps like n8n, Ghost, and NocoDB in cloud pods and uses an AI admin, managed through Claude, to set them up, monitor them, and handle upgrades and backups for teams and individuals who don't want to do sysadmin work themselves.
Good for
- Running self-hosted open-source apps without hiring sysadmin or DevOps staff
- Non-technical users or small businesses who want app setup, monitoring, and upgrades handled for them
- Developers who want to avoid SaaS vendor lock-in by self-hosting tools like n8n, Ghost, or NocoDB
Pricing
Mini $4/mo, Small $7/mo, Medium $12/mo (flat per pod, no bandwidth/seat fees); first Mini pod free during early access; suspended pods drop to $1/mo.
Questions people ask
Where does my app actually run?
It runs in an always-on cloud pod in Podway's cloud, which you manage through your Podway account and a Claude conversation.
What does the AI admin do for me?
It sets up the app, takes backups, handles upgrades you request, and helps investigate problems from your Claude conversation, with risky upgrades waiting for your approval.
Do I need a separate AI subscription to use Podway?
No, you can use your existing Claude Pro or Max subscription to sign in, and Podway adds no token markup.
What happens if an app upgrade fails?
Podway takes a snapshot before every upgrade, and if the new version fails its health check, it restores the previous version and data.
How is pricing structured?
Pricing is a flat monthly fee per pod size (Mini, Small, Medium) with no usage meters, bandwidth bills, or per-seat fees, and the first app on a Mini pod is free during early access.
