Pingularity

Last updated 2026-08-19 · benchmark measured 2026-11-05 — deterministic & reproducible

Self-hosted dashboard for monitoring your home or office internet connection.

Pingularity at a glance

Pingularity is a self-hosted dashboard that runs on your own hardware via Docker to record outages, speed tests, latency, and DNS data for home users, network administrators, and people troubleshooting their internet connection.

Good for

  • Checking whether an internet problem is a real outage or a local Wi-Fi/device issue
  • Verifying you're actually getting the download/upload speeds you pay for over time
  • Building a dated, timed record of outages and slowdowns to use when disputing issues with an ISP

Questions people ask

Where does Pingularity store my data?
It stores history locally in a SQLite file on your own hardware, with zero telemetry, and is private by default with login protection and the option to limit access to your machine or local network.

How does Pingularity detect outages?
It samples ping and DNS continuously across multiple always-on anchors and uses quorum detection, meaning several landmarks have to agree before an outage is logged, so a single lost ping doesn't trigger a false alarm.

What does Pingularity measure in its speed tests?
Scheduled speed tests measure download, upload, ping, jitter, packet loss, and bufferbloat, run through Ookla servers or your own iperf3 server, either on a schedule or on demand.

Can Pingularity alert me when my connection drops?
Yes, it supports configurable webhook alerts to services like Discord or Slack when the internet drops or a threshold is crossed, plus a heartbeat to trigger notifications when the connection is down.

How do I install Pingularity?
It runs as a Docker container (a sudo docker run command is provided) and exposes the dashboard at localhost:9000; a live interactive demo with synthetic data is also available without installing anything.
