Is it safe to rely on Peras to pause Claude Code or Codex before I go over my limit?
It's meant as a guard for your own sessions, but usage is account-wide, folder and prompt numbers are estimates, and stale readings can make a pause late. Hooks don't cancel requests already in flight or stop a client that skips them, though supported Claude Code versions offer opt-in strict checking.
The CLI is MIT-licensed and free, so why would I pay €4.99?
The CLI, hooks, SwiftBar menu, and app source are all free and MIT-licensed; the €4.99 one-time fee gets you the signed, notarized, ready-made macOS app (updates included), or you can build the app yourself from source for free.
Does Peras need an account or track my data?
No account is required for the guard and there is no product telemetry; state stays on your machine. Codex usage is read through its own local app-server, and update checks contact npm.
Can I use Peras on any Mac?
The app requires macOS 13 or later and Node 18+, with builds for Apple silicon and Intel, though execution testing so far has mainly been on Apple silicon with current macOS.
Do Claude Code and Codex share the same usage limit in Peras?
