Questions people ask
What operating systems does CodeConnect support?
The iPhone app requires iOS 17 or later. The computer side runs on macOS 13 or later (Apple silicon or Intel) and Linux (x86_64 or arm64), including systems without systemd such as Alpine or most containers.
How does CodeConnect connect my phone to my computer?
It connects your devices through your own Tailscale tailnet using WireGuard, with TLS added on top if your tailnet has HTTPS certificates enabled.
Do I need a CodeConnect account?
No. There is no CodeConnect account to create, and your sessions never pass through a CodeConnect server.
Can I use CodeConnect without Tailscale?
Your local network also works with a setting on the computer, but without Tailscale's encryption or the live terminal.
How do I set up CodeConnect?
Install the free iPhone app, then run one command on your computer (curl -fsSL https://codeconnect.sh | sh), which installs CodeConnect, walks you through Tailscale sign-in, and signs you in to Claude Code or Codex.
